Chapter 109
The day of the photoshoot arrived, and somehow, against all odds, I was standing
in front of a mirror in a deep green dress that hugged my body perfectly, the fabric shimmering slightly under the light. It wasn't white, and it wasn't a wedding dress, but it was enough to make me feel like I was playing a part in some grand
scheme.
“Perfect,” Sara declared, adjusting her own gown, a soft blush of fabric that flattered her rebellious spirit. She looked radiant, even as her smirk gave away her true intentions. "These are going to piss him off so much."
"Don't get too carried away," I warned, though I couldn't hide my amusement.
Ryan, ever the calming presence, stood nearby, his hand resting on Sara's back as they posed for the photographer. I could tell he wasn't as concerned with riling Adonis as she was-he just wanted to make her happy. And from the way Sara smiled when he looked at her, I knew he was succeeding.
I shifted on my feet, catching Tristan's eye from across the room. He approached me, adjusting the strap of my dress with a gentle touch, his fingers brushing my skin. "You look incredible," he murmured, his voice low, sending a warmth through me I couldn't ignore.
Nathan joined us, standing on my other side, his gaze soft and steady. "I'm glad you agreed to this. You look perfect."
Between the two of them, I felt the weight of the past few days lifting, if only for a moment. Maybe I wasn't ready for a wedding, but standing here with them, surrounded by the chaotic energy of Sara and Ryan's defiance, I couldn't deny that it felt right.
"Let's just get this over with," I said, though my smile betrayed the fact that I was, perhaps, enjoying this more than I let on.
Maybe there was no wedding on the horizon, and maybe we still had a witch to hunt down. But in that moment, I let myself have this—just a fleeting taste of something normal, even if it was all a bit absurd.
The air was crisp as the golden hour bathed the city in a warm glow, Seattle's skyline framing the backdrop of our photoshoot. The energy around us was light, playful—Sara and Ryan laughing as they posed, while the photographer directed us through a series of shots. I stood between Nathan and Tristan, their familiar presence grounding me as we moved from pose to pose, their hands on my waist or shoulders, their warmth seeping through the fabric of my dress.noveldrama
The twins always drew attention. Together, they had an effortless magnetism that I knew well, and today was no exception. We gathered curious onlookers, people pausing to watch, whispering to one another as they stole glances at us. I could feel their eyes on me, too, lingering a little too long. It would have made me uncomfortable once. I would have shrunk back, feeling self-conscious under their gaze, but not today.
Nathan's voice was soft as he leaned down, his lips brushing my ear. "Are you okay? They're staring."
I glanced up at him, seeing the concern etched in his expression, but it didn't bother me. Not anymore. A small smile tugged at my lips. "I'm fine."
Tristan, ever attuned to my moods, smirked from my other side. "You sure? We can send them running if you want."
I chuckled, the sound light. "No need. Let them look."
Nathan's eyes widened slightly, and I could feel the unspoken question in his
gaze. "You're really okay?" he asked again, as if he needed to be sure.
Instead of answering with words, I turned toward him, my hand gently tugging him down to me. His surprise was evident, but it quickly melted as I pressed my lips to his, the kiss soft but lingering. Th
world seemed to fall away, the onlookers forgotten as I pulled Tristan in next, kissing him with the same warmth, the same certainty. His grin was slow to fade when I finally pulled away, his fingers brushing my cheek.
"I don't care what they think," I said softly, glancing between them. "I just want to be happy with both of you."
Tristan chuckled, his thumb grazing my lips. "We've corrupted you, haven't we?"
I laughed, my heart light. "Maybe."
Nathan's eyes softened, the tension easing from his shoulders. "Good," he murmured, leaning down to kiss my forehead. "You deserve this."
We continued the shoot, the three of us comfortable in each other's space, moving with an ease that felt as natural as breathing. I didn't care about the whispers, the curious glances, the speculation of strangers. None of it mattered
anymore. The only thing that mattered was the two of them, and the quiet joy that filled the space between us.
As the sun began to set, casting a deep orange hue across the city, we paused for one final shot. I stood between Nathan and Tristan, their arms around me, our faces lit by the fading light. The photographer called out for us to hold still, and for a moment, time seemed to freeze. This was my favorite shot-me, between the two people I loved most, bathed in the glow of the sunset, the rest of the world fading into the background.
Sara and Ryan had long since snuck away, their playful giggles vanishing into the city as they went off to seek their own private thrills. I had no doubt Sara was dragging Ryan somewhere far less public to indulge in whatever mischief she had planned. I smiled, knowing she was as happy as I was, even in her defiant way.
As the shoot wrapped up and we started to gather our things, I suddenly felt it—a presence, faint but unmistakable, watching us from somewhere nearby. My body tensed, the hairs on the back of my neck standing up. I scanned the area, my eyes narrowing as I tried to locate the source, but the gaze was gone as quickly as it had appeared.
Nathan must have sensed my shift in energy because he stepped closer, his hand resting on my back. "What is it?"
"I thought..." I hesitated, glancing around once more. But the presence was gone,
the feeling dissipating into the evening air. I shook my head. "It's nothing. Probably just my imagination."
Tristan frowned, his gaze sweeping the area before landing back on me. "You sure?"
I nodded, though the unease lingered in the back of my mind. "Yeah. It's fine." Nathan studied me for a moment longer before he relaxed. "Let's get out of here."
I nodded, pushing aside the strange feeling that had crept over me. Whatever it was, it could wait. For now, I wanted to focus on the happiness that buzzed in the air between us. The sunset, the laughter, the warmth of the twins at my side-this was what mattered.
For the first time in a long time, I allowed myself to simply be in the moment, to embrace the happiness that I had fought so hard to find. The world could wait. The witch could wait. Right now, I was with Nathan and Tristan, and that was enough.
