Chapter 1501 Thinking Too Much

Sadie felt a pang of heartache as she held Micah's hand. "It's okay, Micah. I'm already looking for Riley. We should hear something soon."

Micah didn't say anything, just squeezed her hand tightly, gently rubbing the back of her hand with his thumb.

He seemed lost in thought.

"Where have you been these past few days? What happened? Can you tell me?" Sadie asked anxiously.

"I don't really know," Micah said, rubbing his temples, sounding exhausted.

"That night, I was sleeping deeply and felt like the house was on fire. Then someone broke in, and I passed out. When I woke up, I was in the hospital and saw you."

Sadie felt more confused than ever, like he hadn't really explained anything.

"What exactly happened?" Micah asked in return. "Why did the police say you were involved in this? And where's Andrew?"

"Here's what happened..."

Sadie detailed the events of that night to Micah but left out the aftermath, not wanting to burden him too much.

Finally, she added, "Andrew was shot and has been in a deep coma, but he's not in any immediate danger. Don't worry. Mia wasn't seriously hurt, but she's been traumatized and has shut herself off from the world."

"How could this happen? Did you call a doctor?" Micah asked urgently.

"Yeah, Dahlia got a child psychologist for Mia and brought in Gabriella to treat Andrew."

"That's good. With time, they'll get better," Micah said, then quickly asked, "Who were those people that broke into our house? Have we found out anything about them?"

Sadie paused, feeling something was off.

Micah and Andrew, though master and servant, were very close. Hearing that Andrew had been shot and was in a coma, he just casually asked about it?

And Mia, Micah always loved kids, especially Mia. Although he seemed concerned, something felt off, really off.

But what exactly was wrong, she couldn't pinpoint.

Sadie suddenly felt a strange, uncomfortable blockage in her heart.

"What's wrong?" Micah asked, holding Sadie's hand.

"I was just thinking about who those people in black were," Sadie answered cleverly.

"Why would they set fire to Half Mountain Villa the night before our wedding? Your place is heavily guarded. How did they get in?"

"I find it strange too," Micah said, frowning. "We'll probably have to wait until Andrew wakes up to know the truth."

Hearing this, Sadie's doubts wavered.

This did sound like Micah's way of thinking. He quickly identified the key issue, knowing where the crucial point was.

"Let's leave it to the police to investigate," Sadie changed the subject. "The most important thing now is your health. How are you feeling?"

"It's just some minor injuries, nothing serious," Micah said quickly, then added, "As for

my chronic condition, it's not something that can be cured overnight. I'm just glad to be alive."

This response seemed normal.

Only the family knew about Micah's terminal illness; outsiders had no idea. His reaction was very natural.

Sadie suddenly felt she might be overthinking things.

Maybe he was just confident that Andrew and Mia would recover, so he didn't dwell onnoveldrama

it.

Or perhaps, due to his health, his reactions were a bit slow.

Maybe she was just overthinking it.
