Chapter 1524 Enduring Torment

When "Micah" blurted out that Sadie was seeking revenge, he felt a wave of panic, thinking he had said something wrong and might blow his cover.

But now, seeing Sadie's reaction, he finally breathed a sigh of relief.

Thankfully, she hadn't noticed anything. She and Micah had their own grudges, so talking about revenge wasn't out of the question.

"I know you're trying to help me, but this treatment is really unnecessary."

"Micah" softened his tone, humbly pleading, "It's too painful. Not only is it ineffective, but it's making my condition worse."

"How could that be? I was cured this way," Sadie frowned.

"Besides, we agreed on this treatment plan before your accident. Why are you suddenly changing your mind?"

"Micah" was at a loss for words, unable to find a reasonable excuse.

He knew that if he continued, he would surely expose himself.

After all, the real Micah was terminally ill. No matter how painful the treatment, he would cooperate to stay alive.

"If you really don't want to go through with this treatment, I won't force you," Sadie sighed, her voice filled with concern. "Watching you suffer is hard for me too. How about we stop the treatment?"

"Really?" "Micah" was overjoyed.

"Then let's go to Dahlia's," Sadie continued, "While Gabriella is still there, we can do another surgery, let out some blood. It should stabilize you for a while. Once we find Riley, we'll use the new treatment plan."

"Micah" was stunned. "More bloodletting?"

"Yes, just like before. A couple of cuts behind, your ears to let the bad blood out then you rest in bed for a month to recover."

"Isn't that a bit extreme?"

"Micah" looked pained. "You said we have to go to the office tomorrow. If I'm bedridden, how will that work?"

His plan was urgent. If he was stuck in bed for a month, he wouldn't be able to do anything.

"So, what do you suggest?" Sadie looked at him helplessly.

"Micah" twitched, his mind in turmoil, but he steeled himself and said, "Let's go with Dr. Henry's plan."

As he said this, he had a look of grim determination, as if he was ready to face death. Between two painful treatments, he chose the lesser evil after much deliberation. Though being boiled in medicine and pricked with needles was painful, he could endure it day by day. Once his plan was complete, he could escape this torment.

But if he underwent surgery, he'd be bedridden for a month.

And he might slip up, and then Sadie would tear him apart.

"You said it yourself," Sadie seized the opportunity. "So cooperate with the treatment, noveldrama

no more tantrums, and no more hurting people."

"I've told them if you go crazy again, they'll restrain and tie you up. That would be embarrassing."

"Micah" was stunned, his face full of disbelief.

"Alright, get some rest." Sadie didn't say more, turning to leave.

"Where are you going?"

"Micah" hurriedly grabbed her. "Aren't you sleeping here?"

"I have a pile of work to finish," Sadie shook off his hand and left. "Get some rest. Goodnight!"

"Micah" watched her leave, frowning deeply.

When the footsteps outside faded, he locked the door, checked the room, and dialed a number.

"How's it going?"

"Today was hell. They nearly tortured me to death, holding me down in scalding medicinal water and sticking needles in me, saying it's some kind of traditional medical treatment."
