Bride To Be Not Me (Janice and Simon)

Chapter 233

Simon clutched his left cheekbone, his head snapping to the side as he glared at Louis, who had just stormed down the stairs.

Louis rested one hand on his hip and jabbed a finger at Simon before turning to Santiago.

"So, this is the ungrateful bastard who abandoned his girlfriend of seven years for another woman, only to cast her aside when she was no longer useful. And now, he's conspiring with that bitch who tricked me just to make his ex suffer. Does that sum it up?"

Anyone with slower reflexes would struggle to keep up with the tangled mess of betrayals he had just unraveled.

Santiago corrected him, "Mr. Louis, technically, she's his 'ex-ex-girlfriend' now."

"Ex-ex-girlfriend?"

With that, Louis spun around and landed a sharp kick to Simon's chest.

Simon collapsed onto the floor, his vision flashing white.

"Damn, you really get around, don't you? Jumping from woman to woman like a damn parasite," Louis sneered in disgust.

Being ruthless was one thing, but stooping to such shameless, disgraceful behavior was absolutely revolting.

Was Simon even worthy of being called a man?

"His current girlfriend's family is also in the crochet business," Santiago added, his investigation already complete. "But their business is small-scale-barely worth mentioning."

Louis turned to Zedrick. "Now that you know exactly what kind of scumbag he is, why haven't you dealt with him yet? He threw Ms. Burnett out and even made sure every medical institution in Greenfield City refused to treat her. How is that any different from sentencing her to death?"

Ms. Burnett?

Simon's mind instantly latched onto one name Amelia.

How had she gotten involved with these lunatics?noveldrama

Had she always resented what he did and finally decided to team up with them for revenge?

Either way, one thing was certain-he and Amelia were now sworn enemies.

Meanwhile, Zedrick remained composed as he looked at Simon. "Since you've already involved the police, we'll do this by the book. You have one week. Make sure the compensation is transferred to the account I provided."

"You're both nothing but damn thieves!" Simon bellowed, jabbing a finger at Zedrick and Louis.

Before he could say more, the officer seized him by the arm and began dragging him toward the exit. "That's enough. Keep quiet and move along."

Outside the villa, the officer let out an exasperated sigh. "How many times have we had to deal with you this year? Don't you have a company to run?"

Simon's anger flared. "They're extorting me! Can't you see it? Why the hell are you siding with these foreign bootlickers?"

"Watch

your mouth!" the officer snapped. "What do you mean by 'foreign bootlickers'? Just because they do business overseas doesn't make them any less Cruznian. Their entire company is built on preserving traditional

craftsmanship. You barged in, destroyed their property, and now, you have the nerve to act like the victim?"

"They set me up first!" Simon

shouted. They made me drink

something, and now-" His voice caught in his throat as he was unwilling to say the humiliating truth out loud.

Out of patience, the officer climbed into his patrol car. "Go home. Now."

As the car drove away, Simon's frustration reached its breaking point. Gritting his teeth, he slammed his fist onto the hood of his own car.

Not only had he lost the ability to have children, but now, he was drowning in an insurmountable amount of debt.

Legacy Twine had just been established, and every aspect of it needed funding. Where the hell was he supposed to come up with over ten million dollars?

Simon knew Zedrick and Louis

weren't the kind of men to let things slide. If he failed to pay up, that sickly bastard would probably have him dragged back in broad daylight.

No, he couldn't let that happen.

At the Appleton residence, Elsie looked at Simon in surprise, caught off guard by

his unexpected visit. "What are you doing here?"

Since their argument, she had been staying at her family's house.

The CDC test results would take a few weeks to arrive, and until then, she had no intention of seeing Simon again.

Simon glanced around the living room before leaning closer and whispering, "I need to talk to you."

What could he possibly want now?

Although Elsie allowed him to pull her outside, the charm and submissiveness she once exuded were completely gone.

The more she reflected, the clearer it became-Simon wasn't a man worth her loyalty, let alone fighting for.
