Chapter 1746
Chapter 1746:
Without hesitation, Thiago grabbed his phone and dialed Virginia. The phone rang repeatedly, yet no one picked up.
“She’s probably at dinner. I’ll try later,” Thiago said.
“The Wallace family probably won’t stir up trouble at Winbrough University until tomorrow. We should be safe tonight.”
An hour later, Thiago had tried numerous calls with no response.
“Maybe she’s not picking up because it’s an unfamiliar number. Harlee, why don’t you try calling her with your phone?”
Harlee agreed and tried calling Virginia with her own phone, but received no answer. Worse, Ulises was unreachable as well.
At this, both Harlee’s and Thiago’s expressions darkened. Harlee attempted several more calls to both, but to no avail.
Thiago’s concern deepened.
“Could something have happened to the Swain family?”
It was completely out of character for Virginia and Ulises not to answer Harlee’s calls. After numerous unanswered attempts, only one conclusion seemed reasonable: the Swain family was in trouble.
With a worried frown, Harlee sprang from the sofa, grabbed a laptop, and swiftly hacked into Virginia’s phone to seek the number for the village head of Sunnydale, dialing it.
Nonetheless, just like the Swain siblings, the village head’s phone was also unreachable.

Harlee’s expression turned grim, her voice filled with urgency.
“Get Robbie and the rest here, now!”
“Understood,” came the response.
Shortly after, Robbie, Patrick, and Jianna gathered in the living room. The moment they received the news, an urge to rush to Sunnydale gripped them. But years of discipline kept them still, their instincts reined in as they waited for Harlee to give the command.
Harlee instructed, her tone icy, “Robbie, Patrick, head to the Swain residence and assess the situation. Stay alert. The Happer family might be involved. Thiago, investigate any unusual moves by the Wallace family. Jianna, you’re on standby at the hotel. Be ready to leave at a moment’s notice.”
“Affirmative!” came the collective response from Robbie, Patrick, Jianna, and Thiago as they prepared to leave.
At that moment, Rhys entered the room after taking an international call, sensing the tension.
“What’s going on?” he asked.
Jianna, seated on an armchair, relayed the situation in Sunnydale thoroughly. Rhys listened intently, his brows knitting together.
“This sounds like Hazel’s handiwork.”
“How so?” Harlee asked.
Rhys explained his suspicion.
“Hazel knows that her mother’s usual tactics—pressuring the school for expulsions—won’t work given Virginia and Ulises’ connections with you. It’s likely she resorted to more drastic measures.”
Rhys’ face showed his concern.
“I suspect she might have paid someone to harm them, but that’s just my theory.”
Harlee’s gaze hardened, her dark eyes becoming impenetrable.
“The Wallace family is doomed,” she stated, her voice icy.noveldrama
An hour later, Thiago entered the Wallace territory and uncovered the reason behind Sunnydale’s loss of contact.
“Harlee, I’ve found out why Sunnydale went dark.”
“What happened?” Harlee asked, her tone devoid of warmth.
