"You're asking me to help you get rid of Allison? You know Chris said he'd kill her if we got the cops involved, yet you're pushing me to do just that!" Shawn's voice was brimming with frustration.

Lillian's voice came next, dripping with disdain, "And? I've always wanted Allison gone!"

"Lillian! You initially said you just wanted to split Allison and Joshua up, not that you wanted her dead!"

"That was then; this is now. I want her out of the picture for good. Only then will my brother finally notice me."

Allison listened to these words, a sardonic smile playing on her lips. The idea of being wished dead over a guy was laughable to her.

"You're out of your mind!" Shawn's voice was a mix of anger and disbelief.

"Shawn, look at yourself, such a spineless coward. No wonder Allison doesn't want you. Since the breakup, she hasn't given you a second thought. You're no use to me now; consider our little arrangement over."

"Aren't you worried I'll spill everything to Joshua?"

Lillian laughed, "Is that a threat? Don't forget who's backing me. I'm more valuable to Chris than you are. If you expose me and the Fisher family kicks me out, rendering me useless to Chris, do you think he'll let you off the hook?"noveldrama

The recording ended abruptly.

Allison finished listening, her brow furrowed in thought. She had long suspected Lillian's infatuation with Joshua and had guessed her connection with Shawn, so the beginning of the recording wasn't news to her. But discovering Lillian was working for Chris threw her for a loop.

Allison's face was pensive, her brow knitted with contemplation. Should she tell Joshua about this?

In the study, Joshua sat behind his desk, with Thomas standing in front of it, delivering his report.

"Joshua, here are the findings from the on you asked for on Ms. Lillian." Thomas placed the laptop in front of Joshua.

As Joshua reviewed the files, his expression grew darker.

"Our information indicates Ms. Lillian has been closely associating with Shawn lately," Thomas reported.

"The documents we've gathered net

reveal that it was under Ms. Lillian's orders that Shawn called the police during Ms. Allison's kidnapping."

Thomas continued, "A few months back, the Reynolds Group was on the brink of bankruptcy. Then, they suddenly received a hefty

investment. I traced it back to an overseas company, whose legal representative is linked to Chris's associate, Wesley."

The mention of Wesley's name brought a sharp glint to Joshua's eyes.

Joshua's lips curled into a smirk, "So Shawn has become Chris's pawn too."

"And there's more..." Thomas hesitated.

"Go on," Joshua's gaze was intense.

Thomas handed over his phone, the audio queued up. "There's a recording about

Ms. Lillian. You might want to hear it yourself."

Joshua frowned, tapped the screen, and started listening...
