Goodbye, Mr. Regret

Chapter 355

Phelps grew even more anxious.

Jessica wanted a divorce, and now Timothy was off looking for Sheila-was that the reason behind it all?

If that was the case, he couldn't allow Timothy and Jessica to go through with the divorce.

As for everything Timothy had done to Jessica, Phelps would have to find another way to handle it.

"You'd better get going," he told his assistant. "I'll have your father look after Henry. And do you know where Jessica went?"

"No, I don't."

"All right. That's all for now."

After ending the call, Phelps immediately tried to reach Timothy. His phone was off.

Must still be in the air.

Utter nonsense.

Frustrated, Phelps decided to call Timothy's grandfather, Abell Howard, directly.

There was no way he would ever approve of anything romantic between Timothy and Sheila.

"Abell, is Sheila home?"

"She is. Why do you ask all of a sudden?"

Timothy's mother had died young, and after her passing, his father had remarried. Without a daughter to bridge the two families, and with the Howards having emigrated abroad, the connection between the two households had grown distant -nothing like the days when Hannah Howard was alive.

These days, they only spoke on rare occasions.

Phelps explained, "Here's the situation: Timothy was in a serious car accident a few days ago. He's got a steel plate in his leg and can't move, barely out of the hospital for two days, and then he charters a private jet to fly to Aetherion. I can't imagine he's here for anything other than Sheila. I honestly don't know how to handle this. I'll leave it to your judgment."

Phelps feigned helplessness, as if the matter were truly out of his hands.

Abell understood exactly what he was getting at. As Timothy's grandfather, he had no intention of ever agreeing to anything improper between Sheila and Timothy.

He'd raised Sheila as his own daughter; everyone in their circle knew that. Sheila was his child, and Timothy was his eldest daughter's son. If anything scandalous happened between them, both the Lawsons and the Howards would be disgraced.

"Don't worry, I understand. When Timothy arrives, I'll make sure he gets straight to the hospital."

"Thank you, Abell. And how's your health these days?"

They exchanged a few pleasantries before Phelps ended the call.

He then immediately sent people out to look for Jessica. He needed to see her face-to-face, to have a real conversation about her marriage to Timothy.

Jessica wasn't one for talking, and even if

Timothy's flight was scheduled to leave at 11 p.m., which meant he'd arrive in Riverside City by 11 a.m. local time.

But with the time difference, by the time he landed in Aetherion, it was already nearly midnight.

As soon as he got off the plane, Timothy called Vince.

"Where's Jessica staying?"

"Hospital," Vince replied without thinking.

"She's in the hospital? What happened?"noveldrama

"What do you think?"

Timothy remembered that morning when Jessica had coughed up blood. He'd arranged for a doctor, but she'd run off.

Her throat was injured and had been left untreated. Now she'd gone overseas- maybe things had gotten worse.

Timothy's handsome features tightened in concern. "Which hospital?"

"Why are you asking? You're a million miles away."

"I just landed."

Vince's eyes widened. "Are you out of your mind?”

"Probably. You know I'm not right in the head. Just give me the address. Don't waste time."

Timothy was desperate.

He needed to see Jessica, to explain everything.

They couldn't keep running from their problems.

"I can't tell you. She'd be furious if she found out. Timothy, just let i
