Just as her voice trailed off, Reece and Micah strolled over, walking side by side.

'Hey, Brooke, has Darya left?' Reece spotted her and quipped, 'Why is this mutt still here?

'Darya forgot to take Marshmallow with her.' Brooke patted the dog's head.

Reece clicked his tongue in disapproval before asking, 'The guy who left with her, do you know what's going on between those two?'

'You mean Miss McAllister and Doctor Miller?' Brooke asked.

'Yeah, those two.' Reece stroked his chin. 'They seem awfully familiar with each other. Are they more than just employer and employee?'

Brooke had a similar suspicion.

However, not one to engage in idle gossip, she simply shook her head and said, 'I have no idea.

Micah narrowed his eyes and shifted his attention to Marshmallow.

The last time they met, the little pup called him daddy, and Darya, mommy.

Micah had been thrilled.

However, today, Marshmallow seemed off.

'Do you still remember me?' Micah tried to reach out and pet Marshmallow.

Micah's expression grew darker by the second, silencing the others who feared provoking his anger.

Thankfully, just as the tension reached its peak, the car that had recently departed returned.

Micah watched coldly as it pulled to a stop, and the person who stepped out was Brion

'I'm here to pick up Marshmallow,' Brion said politely, approaching them and lifting the pup off the ground

Marshmallow, now nestled happily in Brion's arms, glanced curiously at the backseat, only to find Darya, who had been there moments ago, had vanished.

'Doctor Miller, if you don't mind asking, what's your relationship with Darya? Reece mustered the courage to ask the burning question in Micah's mind, now that Darya was absent.

returned from overseas. Maybe he's not familiar with you.'

Not far away, Darya anxiously awaited Marshmallow's return.

Marshmallow gleefully received Darya's permission.
