No longer a pushover (Noelle and Cedric)

Noelle was so furious that her eyes turned bloodshot. She could not believe that Cedric had twisted the situation to blame her instead.

Cedric noticed that she was about to cry and immediately softened his tone. "That's not what I meant. I didn't say that you were cheating on me."

But he just saw that she was standing way too close to a stranger, and he did not want to see her getting so close to another man.

Noelle held back her tears and pushed Cedric's hand away. "Let him go."

Cedric let go of his hand obediently. He lowered his voice and asked, "What's wrong, Noelle?"

"Nothing."

Noelle ignored Cedric and handed her towel to Raymond. "Go take a cold shower. It'll help to stop the nosebleed."

Cedric noticed Noelle giving Raymond her towel. He immediately snatched it away and said, "You can use mine."

He then stuffed his own towel into Raymond's arms instead. Raymond did not accept the towel. He just turned to Noelle and asked, "Will you be okay by yourself?"

"I'll be fine. You go ahead and stop the bleeding. I'm sorry about what happened just now," Noelle replied. She never expected Cedric to actually hit someone.

Raymond glanced at Cedric before finally turning around to leave the boxing ring. With that, the room finally returned to silence.

Noelle looked at the towel in Cedric's hand and reached out to grab it. "Give it to me."

Cedric did not let go. He stepped closer toward Noelle, his voice still stiff. "I misunderstood the situation because I saw that you were getting too close to another guy."

He still could not believe that she would give her towel to someone else right in front of him as if he were invisible.

Noelle retorted, "Then what about you?"

He noticed her questioning gaze and replied, "I never had any female sparring partners when I worked out at the gym."

"I'm not asking about that. Didn't you say you have something to tell me? I'm listening."

She was eager to hear how Cedric would try to explain himself.

Cedric licked his lips and explained, "The reason why I didn't reply to your messages that night was because my grandmother was sent to the hospital for an emergency.

"On top of that, I had something urgent to deal with back at the company, so I didn't have time to reply to your messages right away. I already saw that your message was nothing urgent, so I had planned to reply to you later."

He never would have thought that she would be so angry over such a matter.

Noelle was weirdly calm even after hearing his explanation. "That's it?"

"Yeah, that's really it. If your message had been something urgent, I would've replied to you immediately."

Cedric bent down slightly to meet her gaze, his eyes filled with sincerity. He was so anxious that it almost seemed like he was swearing an oath.

Noelle's expression, however, remained so cold that it made his

scalp tingle. He grabbed her hand and continued, "If there's anything else that I've done wrong, please just tell me directly."

As his hand was left hanging in the air, he grew even more anxious. "Noelle, I swear that I'll reply to your messages instantly from now on!"

"Cedric, I'm asking you one last time: are those all the explanations you wanted me to hear? Is there really nothing else you wanted to say?" she asked.

Cedric was at a loss for words. He really wanted to tell Noelle about his true identity, but Noelle was still mad at that moment.

He reckoned that if he were to tell her the truth now, she would choose to break up with him on the spot. And thus, he hesitated.

Cedric cautiously glanced at Noelle and said, "Can I tell you about it after you've calmed down?"

He had not yet even managed to calm her down just yet. If she were to find out that he had been hiding his true identity from her at that moment, it would practically be the end for him.

Noelle shook off his hand and turned to leave the boxing ring. "If you don't want to say it now, you might as well never say it ever."

"Noelle, wait!" Cedric had no choice but to chase after her helplessly. "Noelle, let's

go to L Bistro for dinner later. Or are there any places that you'd like to go?"
