Chapter 219
Brad gaped at Nadine, almost wanting to crack open her brain to see what she was thinking. He clearly saw Tyler taking advantage of her against her will, yet she was still pleading for him!
Nadine didn't want things to escalate, nor did she want to become the center of office gossip. Grabbing Brad's arm, she dragged him out of the room.
"No, it's not what you think! I just don't want you to beat him to death. You'll kill him if this continues. Stop it. Let's go."
Brad was clearly in a killing rage. How could she just stand by and watch him beat Tyler to death?
"Brad, calm down, okay?" Nadine pleaded, overwhelmed by the dread of him beating someone to death and his fearsome stance.
Brad had loathed Tyler for quite some time. He just hadn't had the chance to teach him a lesson. Now that he had the opportunity, he jumped right on it and went all out.
His punches landed on Tyler's abdomen. In fact, he had no intention of sparing Tyler. If Nadine hadn't intervened, he might have really killed Tyler.
The fact that Nadine proposed a divorce right after Tyler's return infuriated him. He had to teach this homewrecker a lesson!
"Nadine, how dare you defend this piece of shit? Do you enjoy it when he forces himself on you?"
Brad simply couldn't fathom why Nadine stopped him. Nadine was petrified by his loss of control. Fearing that he might escalate things to murder, she dragged him out.
"Stop spouting nonsense, Brad! There's nothing going on between Tyler and I. It was just a misunderstanding. Hurry up. Let's go. You're injured. I have to tend to your wounds."
The back of Brad's hand had been scraped open, exposing his flesh. It looked alarming and it ruined his flawless skin.
She wasn't sure whether his injury was severe, so she mustered all her might to drag him out of the changing room.
Thanks to Nadine's persuasion, Brad finally regained his composure.
Without sparing Tyler a glance, he let her lead him to the surgical department, where he had an X-ray taken to confirm that his injury wasn't fatal. She was relieved and proceeded to take him for treatment.
Brad had been silent throughout the entire process. He looked as if someone had punched the living daylights out of him. Nadine, on the other hand, kept fussing over him in a docile manner.
"Luckily, it wasn't a fatal injury. Let's get the nurse to treat your wound now."
Brad had saved her, after all. She owed him a "thank you" no matter what, so it was only right for her to treat his wound.
The surgical nurse was tending to another patient with more severe injuries. She chanced a glance at Brad's injury and snapped, "Can't you wait? His injury is far less severe than the one over here.
"Besides, aren't you a nurse too? Can't you handle such a minor injury? Why don't you treat him instead if you're in such a hurry?"noveldrama
Nadine was at a loss for words. The nurse's attitude was unpleasant, but what she said made sense.
Unable to retort, Nadine clenched her teeth and took some iodine and disinfectant. She also produced a medical cotton swab and began cleaning Brad's wound.
Brad had injured his left hand. It wasn't severe, but a large scrape was evident on the back of his hand. His skin was torn, revealing the flesh underneath. It truly looked gruesome.
Staring at his wound, Nadine, who had been rendered speechless by her colleague, ultimately decided to tend to his wound herself.
What do you think?
