Chapter 228
The comment somehow triggered a flood of responses from netizens.
"It is considered as marital property. Nadine can definitely sue for it if she wants it back!"
"Indeed, men turn into scums once they become rich. If you ask me, men should be kept poor!"
"As far as I know, in such cases, if the wife wants to take the jewelry, she just needs to apply to the court. Mrs. Hamilton, you can hire me as your lawyer if you want to sue. I'll do it for free."
Brad was oblivious to the online buzz. In fact, he was more concerned about Nadine's relationship with Victoria.
They seemed to know each other, though their relationship appeared strained. But why did Nadine lash out at her as if she didn't know her at all?
Just as he became lost in thought, his phone rang. It was Jean. Brad frowned. Glancing at the caller ID, he balked for a few seconds. He was well aware of why Jean called him in the middle of the night.
After some contemplation, he answered the call.
"What is it, Jeanie?"
To his surprise, Lynn's voice came through instead. "Mr. Hamilton, I'm not Ms. Sawyer. I'm her caregiver!"noveldrama
She kept emphasizing her identity in a quavering voice, and Brad finally recalled who she was.
"What's the matter?"
Lynn sounded overwhelmed. She coughed several times to steel herself before saying, "Mr. Hamilton, Ms. Sawyer has another fever again. She's a very bad mood and won't allow anyone near her. I don't know how I should go about this. Could you come over?"
In fact, Jean was right next to Lynn. Noting her tone, Jean smiled at her and gave her a thumbs-up.
She had initially thought of getting
rid of Lynn since she had feelings for Brad, but it was undeniable that Lynn always did a satisfyingly great job. She couldn't bear to let her go, so she could only plunge herself into a dilemma.
Brad's face felt. He had intended to

frenzied state still lingered inchis mind.
Jean was also ill, and she constantly called him to visit. But there wasn't anything
he could do except offer emotional support. Only a doctor was capable of easing her physical discomfort.
Given Nadine's current state, he couldn't leave her alone.
He politely declined Lynn's request after a while, saying, "Sorry, but I'm caught up
in a situation at home. We have a patient at home as well. You should get the doctor to help Jeanie with her fever.
"Tell her that I'll visit tomorrow. Later, I'll call Jeanie's attending doctor to make sure he pays extra attention to her."
Thinking of Nadine's current state made Brad lose the urge to go to the hospital.
What do you think?
