Please Give Me Another Chance Mrs Hamilton

Chapter 449

The minute Nadine decided on a divorce, she made a personal vow. She would focus on her career, date more, and never remarry because a wise woman knew better than to fall in love. If she did find someone she liked, she'd date, but she'd never marry them.

Hence, when Brad said she'd have trouble finding someone new, she burst into laughter. Nadine laughed so hard, she doubled over, startling the birds in the trees, sending them scattering into the snowy sky.

Her ex-husband's arrogance was truly off the charts. Did he think he was the only man on earth?

Her words hit him like a brick. He stood rooted to the spot, staring at her with wide eyes and slightly parted lips, forgetting what he was about to say.

He suddenly realized that Nadine seemed to be glowing, almost as if she was surrounded by a halo, radiating brilliance. It was a side of her he had never seen before. At that moment, his long-dormant heart skipped a beat.

Brad couldn't quite name the feeling washing over him. He just stood there staring at Nadine, completely taken aback by what she had said.

After mulling it over for a while, he said arrogantly, "You sure talk a good game! Have you even checked if there's a market for you? Who would want secondhand goods like you?"

Nadine had changed, so much so that she felt like a stranger to him. Her eyes no longer held the affection she once had for him. Now, she was like a beacon, glowing in a way that made it hard to look her in the eye.

The words "diamond in the rough" popped into his mind. He recalled how, for years, Nadine had been so submissive, constantly trying to earn his favor. But now, she was defiant and independent. All of a sudden, he felt a creeping fear that he was about to lose her.

As Nadine became more assertive and dazzling, his fear of losing her tightened its grip on him, making it harder to ignore.

At that moment, all he wanted was

to crush Nadine's spirit, to keep her by his side, and to stop her from shining so brightly. Thus, without considering the consequences, he blurted out whatever came to mind. By the time he realized what he had said, it was already too late.

Her expression darkened, and she shot daggers, at him. "Brad, after we divorce, you'll be secondhand goods too! We'll see if any woman is stupid enough to want you!" With that she turned and walked away, her steps firm and unwavering.

As of that moment, Brad was dead to her.

Panic gripped Brad when he watched her leave. He reached out to grab her, but his hand closed around nothing. All he could do was watch helplessly as her slender figure disappeared into the snowy expanse.

Brad was overwhelmed by regret, remorse, and guilt. He once again felt as if a fishbone had lodged itself in his throat. He couldn't swallow it or spit it out. It was slowly but surely squeezing the life out of him.noveldrama

There was a dull ache beneath his second rib, making it painful to breathe, while a bitter taste rose in his throat. He slammed his fist into his thigh, his strikingly handsome face twisted with rage. "Damn it! What the hell did you just say?"

From a distance, the bodyguards Adam had sent witnessed the scene and promptly informed him of what had happened.

Meanwhile, lounging with his iPad miles away in Janctera City, Adam gleefully watching the drama unfold, clapping his hands in delight.

"Serves you right for being reckless, stupid, and for not treating your wife like the blessing she was! Now you're reaping what you sow!"
