Brad completely ignored Nadine's warning. Instead of stopping, he drew closer, step by deliberate step.

He then raised his hand and snatched her phone out of her hand and tossed it to the ground behind him. Fortunately, the floor was carpeted, so the phone landed with a dull thud that didn't wake Sean up.

The next thing she knew, he was right in her face. His eyes were filled with fury, and his nose nearly touched hers. He growled, his voice low and threatening, "I'm warning you, Nadine. If anyone dares approach you, you tell them you have a jealous man at home and turn them down immediately, understood?

"You can only be mine, understand? If Sebastian dares to take you on another solo trip, I'll end him where he stands!"

As those words rolled off his tongue, his hot breath brushed against her skin, grazing her nose and upper lips with a tingling heat. The sensation spread down to her thighs, like an electric shock running through her.

His overbearing tone and presence wrapped around her like an iron chain, tightening around her throat, rendering her speechless. Nadine stared into Brad's eyes-noticing his arrogance-and remained silent for a long while. She couldn't help but think that Brad was an idiot.

What the hell was this? Was he trying to be one of those overbearing male lead clichés ripped straight out of those cheesy romance novels? Seriously? She wasn't falling for that crap-not for a second.

To avoid making things worse, she bit her tongue. Since he wanted to role-play as a possessive alpha male, she'd let him have his little act. She wasn't going to take him seriously anyway.

Life wasn't a fairy tale. Even the most passionate love would eventually be worn down by the grind of daily life. Brad would have to learn about the daily struggles of life before he could think about love.

"Are you done?" Nadine finally broke the silence after what felt like an eternity. "If you're done, I'd like to sleep now. I'm tired." She wasn't afraid of Brad. She just didn't want to waste any more time on him. She was exhausted and just wanted to get some sleep.

Noticing the impatience in her gaze, his brows drew together as he looked at her coldly. "What's that supposed to mean? I'm talking to you, you know? Are you even listening to me?"

Nadine lifted her gaze lazily and nodded indifferently. "I heard you, okay?"noveldrama

The look she gave him-apathetic and bored was straight out of a TV drama's playbook for a heartless femme fatale. It made his blood boil,

but he couldn't do anything about it, so he ground his molars in frustration.

In the end, his frustration bubbled over, and he reached out, pinching the tip of her

fair nose. "Just keep that in mind. Now, tell me where am I sleeping?"

A faint smile played on the man's lips, but it didn't reach his eyes. There was a threatening undertone in it as he beamed at Nadine. His smile was radiant, but there was no warmth behind it.

Nadine's room was a typical hotel setup-a large bed and a couch. It could comfortably fit two, even three if necessary.

However, she didn't want to share a bed with Brad. After mulling it over, she said, "You can take the couch."

Brad arched his brow, his lips curling into a sly smile as he asked, "Do you not want me to warm you up? have a high body temperature-my body heat will make the bed nice and toasty for you."
