Shrouded Affections Winning Back My CEO Wife

Chapter 1073

Chapter 1073:

It was unclear whether he would even be able to escape today. Even if he did, evading capture later on would present immense difficulties.

“What are you talking about? I’ve found a place for us to stay. Just do as I say!” Lydia ordered, her tone leaving no room for argument. Then, she hung up the phone.

Christos stared at the phone for a while before turning to Eileen, saying, “I’m…”

Eileen was rendered speechless. How could he still think…

She didn’t like Christos—after all, he was Coen’s son. Her animosity toward him had only intensified after Coen attacked Bryan.

However, Eileen was now so annoyed by Christos that her patience was wearing thin. “Hand over your phone; I’ll call Bryan. I assure you, he’ll let you leave Alverton. But your future escape and your mother’s ability to shield you will be left to fate!”

Christos said with a serious expression, “Are you sure? Eileen, it’s not good to lie!”

“Cut the crap, or I’ll die here with you.” Eileen reached out her hand toward him.

Christos swiftly handed over his phone, but Eileen’s momentary relief was short-lived. She discovered there was no signal.

“Didn’t you just receive a call?” Eileen asked.

Christos sighed. “The signal here is unreliable and can be lost at any moment. We’re in the mountains, after all. My mother had to call me multiple times before she finally got through.”

Eileen was momentarily speechless. “I can take you to a place with signal!” Christos announced as he walked forward. “I’m confident that if you genuinely ensure my safety, I can leave Alverton…” He wasn’t blind. He could see how protective Bryan was of Eileen.

The RV began to move, gliding smoothly across the expansive plain. Eileen was asked to take the front passenger seat.

Eileen also wanted to take in the surroundings, allowing her to stay aware of her situation at all times.

But after hours on the road, the vast expanse of the plain showed no signs of ending. Eileen looked at Christos and demanded, “Where exactly are we going?”

“I don’t know,” Christos said, scratching his hair irritably. “I just drove to a place with few people before. It seems I’m lost.”noveldrama

Eileen growled angrily as she stared at the phone in her hand. A moment ago, there had been a weak signal, and she had decided to wait until it was stronger before making a call. However, now the signal had completely disappeared.

Just as she was losing hope, a car appeared in the distance, its approach rekindling a spark of optimism within her.

“Stop and ask for directions,” Eileen said to Christos.

Christos promptly complied, pulling over and dashing out to inquire about the route. He returned about thirty seconds later.

“The man told me it’ll take around eight hours to get to the city center,” Christos said.

Eileen’s brow furrowed as she gazed out at the car. Then, she asked, “Where did you put it?”

“It’s in the trunk. Shall I get it?” Christos was about to go and retrieve it, but then he hesitated. “But I doubt we’ll get any signal in this area.”
