Shrouded Affections Winning Back My CEO Wife

Chapter 934

Chapter 934:

In the stillness of the night, standing so close to Dolores in the dim light, he found himself unable to understand her. Something was amiss.

“Why? Have you changed your mind? You don’t want another baby, but you want to keep playing this game with me? Don’t tell me you’ve fallen for me.” Dolores’ words provoked him.

Irritated, he crushed his lips against hers, but unexpectedly, they were soft. Amid the roughness, he thought he had heard her sobbing. She seemed to be trying to control her emotions. She hadn’t cried or begged him like the time before when he had hurt her.

“Julio, it hurts!”

In the quiet room, their heavy breathing mingled with her quiet sobs. His mind went blank, memories of their nights together flooding his senses, desire overwhelming his reason. His mind fixated on the thought he wanted—he had wanted her since that night.

Since then, Dolores had visited him several times. After goading him into a verbal agreement, she had returned with a document to formalize their arrangement for her to have another child with him. After he had signed it, she became more proactive.

Just last night, he had stepped out of her bed, only to watch her get dressed without a word.

Lately, Dolores had been leaving immediately after sex, her passionate moans in bed seeming almost rehearsed. This had irritated Julio, driving him to drink after she had left.noveldrama

Now, rubbing his chin, Julio became more convinced that something was amiss. He lit a cigarette, perched on the bed, unable to figure out what was wrong.

Eileen left the hotel, adjusting her hair with a troubled sigh. Back at the company, she picked at her lunch, distracted.

“What’s wrong? It seems there’s something troubling you,” Bryan said, noticing how she poked at her food with the fork, barely touching it.

Eileen put down her fork, rubbing her temple with one hand as she asked earnestly, “Do you think I’m getting old? I can’t seem to hide my thoughts anymore.”

She had nearly spilled the truth to Julio today, revealing the reasons behind Dolores’ actions. Eileen had clearly seen the disdain in Julio’s eyes. He believed Dolores was nothing more than a woman driven by greed, a person without any dignity.

Eileen then told Bryan everything about Dolores, before adding, “I’ll tell Julio if he won’t admit it. Maybe if the truth came out, things would change for the better.”

Bryan leaned back, crossing his arms, his gaze steady.

“You think you’ve got sharp eyes, my dear, but can you see how I’m holding back my desires every night?”

Eileen was momentarily speechless. Bryan continued. “Before, with the Ferguson family’s instability, Julio wouldn’t marry an ordinary woman like Dolores, regardless of his feelings. Now that the Ferguson Group’s stable, who knows what he’ll do? If you want to gamble, tell him the truth.”

“I couldn’t risk it.” Eileen backpedaled.

“Let them sort it out themselves. I don’t want to make things worse.”

“How about sparing a thought for me instead of constantly worrying about someone else’s problems?” Bryan picked up his fork again, his tone light but with a clear hint of complaint. “If you’d pay me a little more attention, I might just return the favor with extra enthusiasm.”

“Thanks, but no. I can barely handle the enthusiasm you’ve got now,” Eileen replied.
