The CEO's Empathy Pregnancy Pains

Chapter 357 Prized Piece

"Have you been hanging out with your grandpa these past few days?" Emily asked.

Emily and Alice had met through Michael. Given the awkwardness between Emily and Michael now, things got a bit weird whenever Emily and Alice met.

"Yeah, have you been swamped with work lately?"

Emily nodded at Alice's question, and the tension between them grew thicker.

Suddenly, Emily remembered something Bryan had mentioned a few days ago when he asked for her help. "You and Bryan haven't seen each other in a while, right?"

The banquet hall was brightly lit, and with it being daytime, the jewelry on display sparkled brilliantly. In contrast, Alice looked rather worn out.

Emily could tell that Alice had changed a lot since they last met, and she suspected it had something to do with Bryan.

Hearing Bryan's name, Alice froze. She missed Bryan a lot, but with Leo back, she had to cut off contact with Bryan.

How could she not miss him after all these days?

Today was Bryan's mother's jewelry exhibition, but Alice hadn't expected to run into Bryan here. He usually avoided such events.

Besides, Bryan didn't know she would be here.

Thinking about this made Alice feel a bit sad. Maybe this was one of the reasons she envied Emily and disliked her own status as the eldest daughter of the Ward family.

Everyone envied her, but no one knew she didn't enjoy this life.

"Yeah, it's been a while."

Alice's moment of sadness was interrupted by Leo standing nearby. She took a deep breath, trying to hide her emotions, and looked back at Emily.

"Miss Brown, I..."

Before Alice could finish, her expression changed, and she fell silent.

Emily followed her gaze.

It was Bryan.

Emily smiled, recalling what Bryan had said to her that day: "In the jewelry exhibition... Miss Brown, could you help me get an opportunity?"

"What kind of opportunity?"

"I want you to get the hosting opportunity."

"But..."

"Don't overthink it. I believe my mother would be happy to let you host. That way, she

can travel without worry, and I can attend the exhibition to see Alice from afar."

"But how do you know she'll come?"

"She's Mr. Ward's favorite granddaughter. He'll definitely bring her."

"I'll do my best."noveldrama

"Thank you, Miss Brown."

"You're welcome. This might be the real reason you came to see me. It makes sense now."

Emily and Bryan exchanged a knowing smile. Then she turned to Alice with a

meaningful look before walking away, giving them space.

Alice turned her gaze to Bryan. She opened her mouth to speak but was captivated by the deep, tender look in his eyes.

The light reflected in his eyes, deep and mysterious.

It felt wonderful to see two people in love finally come together, particularly given Bryan's efforts to see Alice.

Emily felt a pang of envy but knew this was something she could never have. She shouldn't dream about it. She needed to focus on her work.

With renewed determination, Emily walked over to Leo.

Penelope had mentioned that Leo was an important client.

"Mr. Ward, is there anything that catches your eye?"

Seeing Emily approach, Leo smiled. He didn't know why, but he felt a natural affinity for

her, as if she reminded him of someone he used to know.

After a moment, he answered her question.

"Yeah, I like this one."

Leo pointed to a pure white necklace.

Emily smiled, recognizing it as a piece she had personally designed and revised three times. She was delighted that Leo liked it.

Wanting to give Bryan and Alice more time, Emily began to introduce the piece.

"Mr. Ward, you have excellent taste. This set includes a diamond tiara and necklace, made with a total of 200 carats of flawless diamonds, dreamy and enchanting."

Leo laughed heartily. "Dreamy and enchanting, I like it!"

Emily then introduced several more necklaces, noticing Leo's particular interest in them. She highlighted JM Jewelry's prized piece, The Fortune Jade Necklace.

"Mr. Ward, this necklace is made of top-grade natural green jade, with ruby and diamond clasps. Each diamond is elegant and can shine mysteriously at night, like stars in the sky."

Mysterious light? Shining stars?

Leo was suddenly reminded of his long-lost daughter, Vanessa.

His mood shifted.

Emily noticed immediately, worried she had said something wrong. "I'm sorry, did I say something..."

Before she could finish, Leo's expression hardened, and he pointed to the prized necklace.

"I want this one!"

Emily was stunned. "What did you say?"

Leo patiently repeated. "I said, how much is this necklace? I'll take it. I can arrange it with Penelope, right?"

JM Jewelry's pieces were always expensive, and few in Emerald City could afford them.

They usually didn't focus on local sales.

But today, the prized necklace had sold so quickly?

Emily was surprised. It had taken less than three days from creation to sale.

This was the fastest sale ever.

As Emily was lost in thought, Leo asked her, "Ms. Brown, did you design this?"

She nodded, and Leo smiled warmly.

"Great, I love your work. Could I ask you to design two more necklaces for me?" Emily agreed. "Of course."
