Chapter 608 A Visit from the Guests
Natalie reached out and hugged Marcus back, letting out a soft laugh. "It's almost here, Marcus. It's almost here. Don't be impatient."
"Nat, once we finish the wedding photos, you just need to relax and wait to become the bride."
"Alright!" The two hugged behind the door for a while. After an entire day of shooting wedding photos, they were both exhausted.
"I'm going to shower and then go to sleep."
"Okay." Marcus suddenly smiled, and his gaze turned heated in an instant. "Why don't we shower together?"
"Huh?" Natalie's eyes widened, but she quickly realized what Marcus meant.
She laughed. They were husband and wife, after all. There was nothing to be shy about.
"Sure. Let's do it together. We can even scrub each other's backs."
Marcus' smile deepened, then he swept Natalie up in his arms and carried her straight into the bathroom.
A few minutes later, the sound of running water echoed. Steam filled the room, and through the mist, their bodies were closely pressed together.
Once the hearts were close, their bodies followed.
At the Walker residence, Charlotte and William finalized the guest list for the Walker side of the wedding.
"Honey, take a look. There shouldn't be any problems with this list, right?"
Charlotte had double-checked everything. They had invited everyone from Dithoria who had business ties with the Walker family, as well as the five sons' friends, the company executives, and all of their artist and celebrity friends.
William looked it over too and nodded. "Looks good."
"That's a relief."
"Oh, by the way, Sophia called me a few days ago. She said Sierra found her biological parents. Samuel and Sierra are now living in Amberton. Their whole family will attend Marcus and Nat's wedding.
"Sophia also mentioned that Sierra's birth parents' last name is Remington. Her father, Jonathan, was the one who provided Marcus with the medicine to treat Laura."
"I heard about that from Hector as well," William said, picking up a pen and writing down Jonathan's name. "We'll add the Remington family to the list. As for the Holden side, I've seen the guest list from Sheldon. Aside from Laura having no relatives attending, the rest looks complete."
The Holden and Walker families had long-standing business ties, and many of their friends overlapped.
But that didn't matter. What did matter was that Marcus and Natalie's wedding was going to be the grandest, most high-profile, extravagant event in all of Dithoria.
"Laura grew up in an orphanage. Honey, do you think she'll ever find her real family in this lifetime?"noveldrama
Charlotte was a little emotional as she spoke. Laura had been abandoned at the orphanage as a baby, and no one had ever come looking for her.
After she got together with Wesley, he once offered to help her search for her family. But for various reasons, Laura turned him down and wouldn't allow him to secretly investigate on his own either.
Charlotte, as her best friend, understood what Laura was afraid of, and what she didn't want to face.
If her parents had truly loved her, they wouldn't have abandoned her at the orphanage right after she was born. If the staff hadn't found her in time, she might have died as a newborn.
"As long as Laura is living well now, that's enough," William said, noticing Charlotte's sorrow and trying to comfort her. "Who knows, maybe when the time is right, fate will bring her and her family back together."
"Yes, I agree." Charlotte smiled. "She's suffered so much in the past, but now she's finally made it through. I promised her that after Marcus and Nat's wedding, we'd I go on a trip together-just the two of us. No you, no Wesley. A girls' trip."
"Honey, that's not fair." William pouted. "If you're going on a girls' trip, then I'll call up Wesley, and we'll have a boys' trip. Wherever you go, we'll go too. We'll just happen to run into you every day."
Charlotte burst out laughing. "William, why are you still such a clingy husband?"
"I don't care. I've never been apart from you. If you're not by my side, I can't eat or sleep. I'll miss you every single day."
William looked at Charlotte with tenderness. They had grown up together and had loved each other for many years. His greatest blessing was being loved by the one he loved most.
They had six children together. If it hadn't been real love, what woman would have kept having children for him?
"Honey, I really can't be without you. We've never been apart all these years. Wesley and Laura haven't either. Don't leave us behind. The four of us can travel together."
William took Charlotte's hand. "Alright?"
"I'll talk to Laura about it." Charlotte pinched his cheek. "Let's finish preparing the invitations and get Gorge to send them out."
"Okay."
Once they finalized the invitations and double-checked for any missing names, they handed everything to Gorge, who delivered them one by one.
Three days later, a guest came to visit unexpectedly.
It was Jonathan, whose name had just been added to the guest list.
Charlotte and William welcomed him in with Samuel and Sierra, whom they hadn't seen in such a long time. No, she was now Sierra Remington.
Jonathan entered with Melissa, along with Samuel and Sierra in tow. The family sat together in the Walker residence's living room and offered their gifts.
"Mr. Walker, Mrs. Walker, we came to Dithoria not only to attend Ms. Walker and Mr. Holden's wedding, but also to visit the Sinclair family," Jonathan said. "But Samuel told me that even though he and Sierra lived abroad for many years and knew about the Sinclair family's situation, he never did anything to help."
Jonathan looked a little embarrassed. "As a brother, Samuel didn't fulfill his
responsibility to protect and care for his mother and sister.
"Now that he's back, Ms. Sinclair
refuses to let him or Sierra set foot in the Sinclair residence. I understand that asking for help like this is unreasonable, but Mr. Walker, Mrs. Walker, would you be willing to help us arrange a meeting with Samuel's mother and sister?
"I believe there's been a misunderstanding. Mr. Sinclair has passed away, and
both Samuel and Sierra really want to see their mother."
"Mr. Remington, we're happy to have you visit, but I'm sorry. We can't help you," William replied with a polite smile. "My wife and I have been busy preparing for Natalie and Marcus' wedding. We don't have time to take on anything else. Besides, we're not particularly close with the Sinclairs."
Samuel's expression shifted slightly. From what he knew, Natalie and Sophia had
a close relationship. Sophia had even been Sky's fiancée at one time.
The Sinclair and Walker families had once been in-laws, and now William was saying they weren't very close. It was obvious he was just making excuses.
What do you think?
