The President’s Mistake A Tale of Love and Regret

Chapter 455 Shattered Trust and New Beginnings

Freya's gaze was fixed on the scene inside the car, her hands tightly clenched into fists. She felt an intense urge to confront Nathaniel and demand an explanation for his actions.

What was the meaning of their marriage now?

Her eyes were stinging with emotion, but she managed to suppress her feelings,

which turned into a cold, penetrating sense of betrayal.

What would it achieve to confront him? She knew Nathaniel well enough to understand that if he decided to let go, he would do so completely. He was always true to his word.

In the past, she had loved him so deeply and selflessly, sacrificing her family's interests and even her father's life for him.

But now she was unwilling to continue in such a demeaning manner.

If he had chosen that capable and attractive colleague, what could she say or do?

Fine. If that's what he wanted, so be it.

After waiting for so long, hoping for a reconciliation, she was confronted with such a provocative scene.

Was Nathaniel deliberately making the situation clear to her?

With tears in her eyes, Freya realized she had seen enough.

Turning abruptly, she made her way to her car, which Mandy had arranged for her from the rental agency.

After Freya returned to the hotel, she found Mandy, who had taken care of everything for her.

Freya rushed to find Nathaniel but discovered he hadn't yet come back. Waiting outside for so long only led to this disappointing outcome.

She no longer wished to trouble him with her brother's problems. With love no longer present, asking for his help would only humiliate her further.

Freya started her car and drove away in a distressed state, feeling utterly defeated.

Luna observed Freya's car drive off and smirked with disdain. She had barely managed to maintain her composure and had almost collapsed onto Nathaniel earlier.

Luna settled back into her seat and took a deep breath. Her mood had brightened.

She exited the car, moved to the passenger side, and assisted

Nathaniel out. The cold night al net

made him vomit, and he collapsed heavily on the ground.

In a panic Luna helped him up and dragged him to the apartment door.

The apartment was secured with a fingerprint lock. Luna pressed Nathaniel's thumb on it, and as expected, it worked.

Nathaniel's habit of using his left thumb for all fingerprint locks had persisted since his days on the streets of Chinatown.

Luna opened the door, turned on the lights, and dragged Nathaniel to a guest bedroom on the first floor.

She was too exhausted to take

Nathaniel to the master bedroom on the second floor. She helped him

onto the bed, removed his shoes, noveldrama

and covered him with a blanket.

As she was about to leave, Nathaniel's hand grabbed hers firmly.

"Frey, don't leave! Please!"

He was closed-eyed, his face

bet

flushed with a faint redness, looking

pitiful. Seeing Nathaniel in such

vulnerable state stirred a feeling of unease in Luna.

So this was how Nathaniel behaved when he was affectionate with Freya in private?

She scoffed coldly and murmured, "I'm not your Frey, but eventually, I'll be rightfully by your side."

Luna pulled her hand away from Nathaniel's grasp and left the bedroom, the lingering touch making her heart race.

She leaned against the icy wall and took a while to regain her composure. Finally, she called Koen. "I've brought Mr. Nathaniel back to the apartment. You can handle things from here. I should keep my distance."

Freya returned to the hotel just before dawn, as the sky was starting to lighten.

Mandy, concerned for her, had the front desk move Freya's room to be next to hers.

When Freya arrived, Mandy welcomed her at the door. Noticing Freya's troubled look, Mandy quickly went over to her.
