Grayson shook his head with a playful smile, gently twirling a strand of my hair. "Though she's the model I'm supporting."

He reassured me that there was nothing to worry about. Still, I couldn't help feeling uneasy when I learned about his connection to Valeria. Why is he supporting a model?

I wanted to press what that reason was, but I hesitated. The last thing I wanted was to seem like a jealous wife, prying too much into his affairs.

Just then, the door swung open. We both turned to see Eliot standing there, his face draining of color as his gaze landed on us, tangled together on the sofa.

Clearing his throat, Eliot held up a stack of papers. "These documents need your signature, boss."

I set my laptop on the center table, a gentle reminder that I also had work to attend to. Taking the hint, Grayson retreated to his wide desk, shifting his focus to his tasks.

I wanted to ask Grayson for help, but something told me he might be involved- especially since he got the necklace from Tina. And what's his connection to Landon? Are they cousin?

I rolled my eyes. "We have a lot of work to do. I have tons to catch up on after being sick, Mr. Blake." I scratched my cheek. "Actually, I have something to ask."

"About business?"

I frowned. Grayson was a businessman, so he'd probably expect questions related to that.

"No... I just wanted to ask if Tina Montgomery was your ex. I'm asking because you easily got my grandmother's necklace from her."

ression turned unreadable. "No, she wasn't my ex. She used to work at the hotel I'm managing. We met there. I had Eliot track down her file and offered to buy the necklace. I think she realized its importance, so she tried to ask for more money"

I mentally compared Grayson's story about Tina with Cassie's gossip about seeing her lurking outside the villa.

"I'm going to my next video conference," he interrupted my thoughts. "I'll be in the other room."

He walked toward me, laptop in hand, and kissed me on the forehead. Grayson's gaze was different as he looked at me. I couldn't tell if he was sad or if something else was hidden behind his eyes.
