Be Your Lover Forever (Alicia)

Chapter 1486

Someone in the crowd couldn't help snickering. The soft snickering broke all

silence in the room as if the calm sky had suddenly been torn open. In an instant, panic flashed in all the ferocious gazes.

Who was it?

Who was the one that had the guts to laugh at such a moment?

It was like adding fuel to the fire!

The officers who took the lead in breaking in all looked as if their faces were smeared with mud. Countless thoughts ran wild in their mind as they held back the urge to burst out swearing.

By the time they returned to their senses, Trevor and Wyatt couldn't help exchanging glances. Why were they back again? What day was it?

Both of them were used to encountering different scenes, so they didn't take the matter seriously. Calmly pulling the note from his cheeks, Trevor fiddled with it in hand before he looked at the door with a cold sneer hanging at the corner of his lips.

"Officers, have you set your eyes on my room? What can I do for you? Do I have to file an application in advance before I organize a gathering with my brothers and my wife?"

Even a fool could tell that he was infuriated!

It was no wonder. The large group had gone back and forth three times in less than an hour. It was obvious that they were trying to create a scene! Any normal person would definitely not be able to stand it after being interrupted several times!

Everyone was all stunned by his words. They had wanted to give it a shot, holding onto the all-or-nothing mindset, but witnessing the scene before them, it seemed that they were doomed to fail before the search began. Exchanging glances in dismay, they could not decide whether continue the search or not. They were at a loss for how to answer the question to present the most suitable way in dealing with the issue.

"Mr. Trevor, it's not that serious!"

Speaking up, the leader remained respectful. He gritted his teeth and took a step forward, showing his search warrant.

"It's our duty to enforce the law. We can never allow any suspicions or doubts to escape our eyes! I'm sorry, but we'll have to search your room again!"

With the thought of how he had long offended Trevor, the man in the lead threw caution to the wind.

"Oh? Are you saying that I'm stopping you from carrying out your official duties? Well, I can't take responsibility for such a huge crime. Please do as you wish!"

Trevor withdrew his gaze and tapped his finger on the table. "Let's continue!"

Holding a chess piece, Victoria collected herself but instinctively tugged at Trevor's sleeve, mouthing the words, "I've never expected them to have the courage to carry out another search in such a situation! If they search the place once more, they will be more careful! Will there be any mistakes?"

Fearing how they might have noticed something amiss when they had returned for the second time, Victoria first thought it would be a better idea not to move anything in the room. Right then, she somewhat regretted not having checked the

room once more.

Trevor gripped her little hand and gave her a "don't worry" smile!

The current situation was actually a great test and challenge for both parties. On one hand, the police couldn't wait to discover clues but were slightly too desperate. On the other hand, the four of them were guilty and nervous, so the situation was tense right from the beginning.

As the four of them had been sitting on the sofa and had never budged an inch, the security guards on one side first surrounded the place with a police cordon before they started the search. Immediately after, everyone was eager to focus their search on the surroundings of the sofa where four of them had been sitting, so they were driven out of the place and could no longer continue playing chess.

When he got to his feet, Trevor's face was gloomy to the core, but he didn't say a word.

The four of them left the main area and watched the group check the chess pieces like clowns...

Victoria couldn't help rolling her eyes. The police had a rich imagination. Could the four of them have melted the drugs and hid the powder in the chess pieces? There were more than 60 chess pieces, so the police couldn't possibly have thought of checking all of them one by one, could they?

After searching around, someone soon turned to the painting board on one side. Right then, the finished painting which was added with new strokes had completely dried. Having the same thought, the police officers remained focused on the painting that was halfway through the progress, not to mention how they habitually tested the first and the last painting according to Victoria's previous order. Little did they know that the abstract painting with newly added strokes happened to be placed in the middle and was neglected.

There wasn't anything special with the order of the painting!noveldrama

It was evident that the police officers were taking the current investigation more seriously. In other words, they were so anxious that they even began to flip over every corner they could get their extent

hands on. Some went tone!

of picking up the painting that had just been set aside and took a closer inspection.

Witnessing the scene, Victoria broke out in a cold sweat, although she seemed calm and composed on the surface, not having the courage to land her gaze on the painting a little longer.

Holding her in his arms, Trevor raised his hand and gently pinched her waist before turning to smile at her.

She could vaguely sense that his smile was calm and profound...

At such a nerve- racking moment, however, she couldn't voice out the doubts

deep in her heart and could only hold them back...

While her mind wandered off, there was a sudden loud bang followed by a burst of screaming and crackling.

el?

Instantly turning around, Victoria noticed that a lamp seemed to have exploded, not knowing whether the staff was frightened or the fragments had fallen on them. In short, an eye-catching yellow topaz in the corner of the room fell to the ground after a moment of turmoil. Some slipped to the ground, some screamed for help, and some were half bent over, gripping a piece of turquoise jade that almost fell to the ground.

"Be careful!"

All of a sudden, the crowd from all directions gathered around a table. Even the leader who had been scrutinizing the painting placed it down and walked over.

"What's going on?"

Right then, a timid voice sounded, "Chief... There might have been a short circuit as a result of the unstable voltage!"

At the sight of the mess all over the ground, everyone was stunned, frozen on the spot for three seconds.

Holger eyed the manager on one side, who immediately understood and shouted.

"Alas, the astronomically priced yellow topaz! Officer, we will cooperate fully if you demand to search the place. Let's not mention the loss in obstructing the operation of our business, I'll send the list of damaged items to you in person!"

As he spoke, the manager waved his hand and shouted, "What are you waiting for? Hurry up and take photos to collect evidence! This is such an expensive item. Do you intend to compensate for it on your own?"

Right then, Carson, the person in charge of the charity donation event invited over, was stopped by the attendant at the door.

"I'm sorry, Master Vives and Mr. Yales. The police are searching the place, so we can't do anything about it. The search is ongoing. Mr. Trevor and Mr. Johnson are

both trapped in the room. Outsiders are not allowed to enter!"

The implication was that Carson should return home as soon as possible!

Carson was well aware, yet he deliberately shouted.

"What's going on? Didn't you mention that the police are done with the investigation? I specially invited Mr. Yales all the way here to talk about the donation and construction of a new building!"
