Chapter 1487
"Didn't he say that everything has been dealt with? Plus, he did tell me that he
called Wyatt over, didn't he?" Questioning, Carson was fuming and irritated as he pretended to withdraw his mobile phone.
The waiter at the door had been informed of what he should say and do. Wearing a worried face, he replied in a calm manner.
"Don't get mad, Master Vives! There's nothing we can do about it! What can we do now that they're here for the third time? We can't stop them from entering the room since they're holding a search warrant!"
With a sigh, the waiter continued.
"To make it easier for us to talk, Mr. Trevor called his wife over to accompany Mr. Johnson's partner. With everything that's well arranged, who would have expected this to happen! Master Vives and Mr. Yales, it's a mess in the room! With such huge trouble going on, I think he must not be in the mood for a talk right now! Even if Mr. Trevor is still in the mood to talk, the police must be willing to cooperate! Who will be the one shouldering the responsibility for hindering the sensitive investigation of drugs? Mr. Trevor is an influential person, but he can't afford to embarrass himself. What do you think, Mr. Yales?"
After a pause, the waiter remained pointing at the room. "That's why I dare not let you two in! Master Vives, Mr. Yales, why don't you two come another day?"
Right then, there was no need for Carson to object since the middle-aged man, Mr. Yales, expressed his concerns, "Mr. Vives, what should we do? If we can't reach an agreement today, the building..."noveldrama
It was a minor office building worth at least a million! If they couldn't come to an agreement that day, he was afraid that all the hard work would be in vain! Besides, a government office was different. Who knew if Trevor would change his mind about donating a new building to their department the next day?
"Mr. Yales, no one expected any of this! I've already told you, haven't I, that Mr. Trevor is recently having a hard time, so he was planning to do more good deeds. This building is mainly donated by him, whereas we're only responsible for donating the gardening supplies, doors, windows, and so on. It's nothing more than to have our name recorded and benefit from him. I learned that the defense department is in a relatively difficult situation, so we've decided to donate a building to your bureau. As for whether you decide to set up an office or settle your family members down in the building, whether we should build the building at the current address or select a new land? All that requires thorough discussion. Who would have thought that there would be a series of neverending investigations? Who knows if it will end today!"
He sighed with great regret, saying, "Why don't we talk about it another day? Why is it such a coincidence?"
"That's fine! In fact, it doesn't matter if I have to wait, but I'm afraid..."
"Oh my, right? If we end our discussion today and transfer funds after the new year, it's just in time for the construction process to start! I'm, however, afraid that Trevor might not be in the mood to talk about this seeing what happened! Let's do it another day!"
"Alright then. Let's wait a little longer!"
With a serious look on his face, Mr. Yales echoed. Looking at the disappointed and regretful man before him, Carson was secretly gloating.
"That's right. You'd better go back and wait!" Carson gleefully thought to himself.
"I'd have to trouble you to inform Mr. Trevor that I'm happy to talk about the project whenever he's free!"
"Mr. Yales, you're too polite. This is what I should do!"
After a while, Carson led Mr. Yales out of the building. Not long after they turned to leave, a figure emerged from the corner with a camera in hand...
In the room, everyone's search was interrupted as a result of the sudden accident. Even if they got back down to business, they feared making another mistake. Not only were they afraid of anything, but their hands would also shudder when they plugged in the electricity. They had lost in terms of their mindset. As they were desperate and had obviously lost their cool, they had lost their initial sharpness no matter how skilled they were.
As if another century had passed, the group finally began to calm down and collect themselves. As soon as they regained their senses, an ear-piercing ringtone penetrated through the air all of a sudden. At the same time, everyone stopped halfway through and got up one after another. All their eyes focused on their leader.
Although they were far from each other, they could hear a rough voice seething with rage.
"What are you searching for? Search the hell out of you! You've ruined the entire police station's reputation! We've all turned into good- for- nothings who waste the people's money!"
"A bunch of you workers! Do you know whose place you're rummaging through? If you don't have enough evidence, admit defeat. Why would you go barging through their door and demand to search their room thrice? Haven't you created enough trouble?"
"Even if you discover evidence through this method, you won't be able to clear your name when they accuse you of framing them. You might end up not getting anything and embarrass yourselves instead!"
"You plan on continuing the search? Hurry up and get back here! Do you know that as a result of your search, Mr. Yales, who arrived at the door was sent back? Everyone knows that we have a capable captain who carried out three searches per day in the same club! Since you can't find anything the last two times, you went up to search their place for the third time? Aren't you admitting to the fact that you're blind?"
"Do you know how the news describes us right now? They want you to get your eyes checked. Don't stop them from paying their taxes when you're using their tax money to carry out official matters!" "Hurry up and get back here!"
Under the low whispers and all kinds of odd expressions, the third search ended a daze. After sheepishly sending the group of people off, Victoria instantly realized that it was a scheme. He had long been prepared. In fact, it was not the end but the beginning.
After making sure they had left once and for all, Trevor ordered Holger to get his men to tidy and check the room before moving to another room. They then entered the new room with the painting.
"That was close!"
After settling down, Wyatt couldn't help but glance at the two women before his eyes fell on Waverly.
"How did you know they would be waiting outside the door?"
He clearly remembered that it was Waverly who had stopped him halfway through his words.
Looking at Victoria, Waverly explained.
"I noticed her frowning before she coughed lightly as if she wanted to stop you.
That's why I interrupted you and covered your voice with a scream..."
It was then Trevor shifted his doubtful gaze to Victoria. How did she know that?
With the corners of her lips curled into a faint smile, Victoria said.
"When they were about to leave, I saw the leader hinting at one of his men. The man slightly raised his hand and made an 'ok' gesture. I didn't see it clearly, but I had always felt that there was something fishy going on with the thought about how they wouldn't give in since they failed to discover anything. Wasn't that what most police would do? When you let your guards down, they would give you a fatal blow! I suspected that they might leave some monitoring equipment behind. I'm not sure if you might dismiss the thought with a laugh, but I tried to stop you from mentioning the topic just in case!"
So that's how it is!"
Without holding himself back, Wyatt sighed. "Women are indeed meticulous!"
Victoria noticed the abnormality of the group when they had left, while Waverly sensed something wrong with Victoria's expression. The two of them had a tacit understanding.
"Well, I'm really glad the two of you are here today! How did you that they'll be back?"
Smiling, Victoria shook her head.
"I didn't know anything. It was just a guess. I thought it was possible, so I thought of holding you guys back for a while longer! Judging from how anxious they were in rushing into the room without a search warrant in the first place, I figured they must have solid evidence or what they thought to be solid evidence. That's why they had the guts to risk it all! After all, you have an influential identity. They worked so hard to gather everyone and apply for a search warrant, so if they come up with nothing, they will inevitably be scolded. I wondered if they would decide to give it one more shot. Most people won't come for the third time. Since we think so, they must have the same thought. My guess is that they will consider trying once more! Little did I expect them to do it for real!"
Seeing how the four of them didn't move anything in the room, the police would
find an excuse to return after they had left!
"We're the ones that forced them to this point.
guess they're forced to a dead end!"
Wyatt sighed with emotion and continued, "Who on earth set up such a big trap to
plot against you?"
It was obvious that it was a scheme against Trevor. Did the other party want to take the opportunity to smear Trevor's reputation or trample on him so that he would never be able to turn the tables again? Else, did the other party hold any more sinister motives?
Wyatt couldn't figure it out!
The same could be said for the puzzled Trevor. Their eyes met, but all of them fell silent.
After a while, Trevor spoke up, "We barely made it through today. I will investigate this matter in detail! You have to be careful in the future as well!"
Nodding his head, Wyatt replied, "Understood! How are you going to deal with this matter?"
"All my good deeds were in vain. What do you think I should do?"
They searched his club and came barging into his room three times right before
him? Right then as all of them were living a good life, did they forget about how they had come up crawling to beg him for donations?
As soon as their eyes met, Wyatt came to an instant understanding. "Be careful.
They are not easy to deal with!"
"The more trouble I stir, the more
they will know their place, won't they? In the past two years, I must have paid too many taxes. Since the entertainment industry is now at its lows, I decided that the company
shall suffer a loss of one billion
dollars this year! Wyatt, aren't you going to build a new factory? In fact, I think Bayton City and Yecaeus City have great potential. You don't have to build it in Casterwich City!"
If he couldn't afford to pay taxes in the future. how could he be capable of making
donations? Since they landed him in a bad mood, they'd better not think about getting him to donate again!
Sky Success Group was expanding rapidly with every city trying to curry favor with him. With Trevor's words, Wyatt understood what he was trying to say. He was getting Wyatt to count him in and choose another piece of land to build the factory so as to teach those in charge of Casterwich City a lesson! He would reject every effort they put into making up for their mistakes! "Yes, that's exactly what I was going to do. We can't leave all our assets in one place! Why don't...why don't we gather Frederick and the others at night?" They thought that the formula incident had come to an end and were worried if there were any other new troubles. In short, it wasn't that simple!
What do you think?
