Please Give Me Another Chance Mrs Hamilton

Chapter 821

After Brad left, the room grew as silent as a pond frozen in time. The dim wall lamp cast a soft glow over Nadine, illuminating the loneliness deep within her heart.

When Brad asked that question, she couldn't bring herself to lie and instead told him the truth. There was a time when she did use Brad as a replacement for Jack. But it didn't take long for her to realize that Brad and Jack were two completely different people, and the idea of one replacing the other was absurd.

One was full of warmth and sunshine, the kind of guy who spread warmth to everyone around him. The other was cold as ice, someone who could go an entire day without saying a word, and everyone who came across him would avoid him like the plague.

Jack was the former-her beacon of light, her ray of sunshine. Brad, on the other hand, was cold and ruthless, and anyone who came too near would become frozen solid.

At some point, she realized she could clearly tell Brad and Jack apart. Despite their identical faces, she always knew who was who-Brad was Brad, and Jack was Jack.

Even now, staring at the quiet, stagnant room, she had no idea how to explain this to Brad. Nadine mulled it over for a long time before picking up her phone to call him.

No matter what, Brad had stormed out of the room in nothing but thin pajamas. On such a cold night, he was bound to catch a cold. He had come all this way just to bring Sean to her, and simply saying thank you wouldn't be enough to express her gratitude. She needed to show it through her actions.

...

After stepping out of the room, it didn't take long for Brad to regret it. Nadine using him as Jack's replacement wasn't news. He'd known it all along. So, why did it still bother him?

He hadn't cared for over six years, but now, after their divorce, it suddenly hit him harder than he expected. Was he just being dramatic?

Not long after leaving the hotel, he regretted it even more. The biting cold nipped at his skin as he walked down the empty streets of a foreign city in the middle of the night,

dressed in nothing but his pajamas and the hotel's disposable slippers. A profound sense of helplessness crept over him.

His wallet was in the coat he'd draped over Nadine's shoulders earlier. That coat now sat

abandoned on the hotel couch, untouched since then. He had no ID, no credit card—just a nearly dead phone.

For the first time, he felt lonely and lost. "Damn you, Nadine! Why are you so heartless? Can't you just lie to me? Or did you not care enough to bother?" he cursed inwardly.noveldrama

The more he thought about it, the more his chest ached. He wandered aimlessly down the long street outside the hotel, his figure solitary and forlorn.

For a fleeting moment, he even imagined that Nadine might suddenly appear in front of him. But after just a second, he snapped back to reality. That heartless woman would never come looking for him.

If he were Jack, she might've chased after him. The thought stung. The further he walked, the farther he drifted from the hotel.

Nadine called Brad, but it went unanswered. A few tries later, her call went straight to voicemail. Looking at the dozen or so calls she had made, none of which had been answered, she grew tired.

Exhausted, she tossed her phone aside. Then, she changed into warmer clothes, put on her coat, and left the room with the key card.

It was so cold out there. She couldn't afford to let Brad freeze to death. Besides, if

he caught a cold and passed it to Sean, what would she do then?
