Revenge is best served cold

Chapter 210 A Gift for Eric

I clicked on the trending topic, and the comments made me feel a sense of relief.

"They're divorced! How could this guy still act like that? If even a rich woman was treated like this, what if it had been an ordinary woman?"

"Is this how the Cornell family raises their children? This is shocking!"

"He looks like the type who would abuse his partner. Luckily, the heiress of the Brown family divorced him!"

As I was reading, a cup of warm water was handed to me.

Eric sat down next to me. I took the water, thanked him softly, and held the cup to warm my hands.

His gaze drifted to the comments on my phone, and he smiled slightly. "If things go as expected, Cornell Group's share price is going to plummet."

I nodded, my expression suddenly turning serious.

Eric noticed the change in me and grew a bit concerned. He reached out as if to pull me into his arms. But in the end, he simply patted my shoulder gently. "Don't worry. I'll make sure the Cornell family faces the consequences-especially Jeremiah."

The determination in his voice made me snap back to reality. I looked up at him, meeting his earnest eyes. There was nothing but deep affection there. I smiled and held his hand, shaking my head. "You don't have to."

Eric's smile froze, and he looked at me in confusion, unsure of what I was planning.

I scoffed, a flash of fierceness in my eyes. "Don't worry. I'm not that fragile. What he did to me doesn't matter."

Compared to the pain Jeremiah and Elsa had caused me in my past life, this was nothing more than a scratch. I said softly, "Since it's about revenge, then, of course, it would be more satisfying if I handled it myself."

With that, I wrapped my arms around Eric's waist and gave him a deep hug. Of course, this hug was full of gratitude and not anything more.

Eric froze for a moment, then gently returned the hug.

I leaned into his embrace and said softly, "No matter what, I still have to thank you for today. Though I

you probably don't want to how

it."

I looked up and met his gaze. "So, I've decided to give you a big gift."

As soon as I finished speaking, I pulled myself out of his embrace.

Surprised by my sudden movement, Eric watched as I casually made my way back to the bedroom. Once inside, I closed the door behind me and opened my laptop. I

remembered that in about a month, the government would be opening bids for construction companies.

In my past life, Brown Group, Cornell Group, and Flint Group all participated in

that bidding. Cornell Group ended up being the winner.

I once overheard Jeremiah, in a drunken haze, mumbling that the only reason he was able to win that project was because he had secretly bribed the person in charge of the bidding process. That was how he managed to earn their attention and

ultimately secure the project.

In this life, I wouldn't give Jeremiah that opportunity. If he thought he could win by underhanded means, he was mistaken.

According to my memory, he had likely already begun trying to gain favor with the project lead.noveldrama

Well then, it would be simple enough to switch the person in charge.

I smiled to myself as a plan started to form in my mind. This project would be my gift to Eric.

Since we were allies, no matter how things went between us personally, I would do everything I could to help him.

...

The next day, as soon as I arrived at the office, I had my assistant draft an anonymous letter.

Less than a week later, the bidding organizers announced that the person in charge had been replaced, but the bidding date remained unchanged.

Just seeing that news, I could already imagine Jeremiah's expression-furious and helpless.
