Richest Mogul

Chapter 1712

Hearing Vivian call out to her, Skylar stood up. As she walked toward the children's play areas, she glanced back at Priscilla and Trina, who were still

chattering away.

The two women's expressions shifted drastically. Their faces paled as their gazes darted between Joe, Vivian, and Skylar.

It was the kind of sinking feeling that drained the color from their faces.

"Mrs. Martin?" Priscilla's voice trembled as if she was in a daze.

Skylar's eyes briefly swept over them before she turned toward the children's play area. Though her demeanor remained composed, Priscilla and Trina were anything but calm.

The two women swallowed nervously, their gazes snapping away from Skylar. They turned to look at each other, their eyes wide with disbelief and panic.

They thought, "How could this happen?"

"She's Mrs. Martin? Does that mean she overheard everything we just said? What if she tells Mr. Martin and then..." Trina's words trailed off in pure panic, as if she couldn't even bear to finish the thought.noveldrama

No one could have imagined that a weekend getaway meant to be relaxing would take such an unexpected turn. Conversations like these were just lighthearted banter between friends-harmless musings fueled by fleeting fantasies and a touch of greed. They weren't meant to be taken seriously.

They didn't expect that their casual remarks about trying to catch Joe's attention would be overheard by none other than his wife.

This wasn't just embarrassing-it was catastrophic.

Priscilla's face went pale as her thoughts spiraled. She felt dizzy, her mind an utter mess. "We weren't exactly whispering. She probably heard everything."

What made it worse was the looming possibility of Skylar telling Joe. If he found out, Priscilla's job might be on the line.

Losing her temporary role as his assistant had already been fodder for office gossip. Now, if she lost her job as well, Priscilla knew it would be nearly impossible to find another opportunity in the industry. The damage to her reputation would be irreparable.

On top of that, no other company could offer the same lucrative salary and benefits that she had at Martin Group.

"What do we do? Maybe we could talk to her? Explain that those were just casual conversations between us; we never intended to try to flirt with Mr. Martin," Trina asked, clearly anxious.

Priscilla bit her lips, feeling a little lost. "It's not going to work. After everything we said... it's obvious. there's more to it. If I say we're hot trying to seduce Mr. Martin, she probably won't buy it that easily."

"Our luck today is terrible, isn't it? How did we end up running into her?" Trina said.

Priscilla's head felt like it might split, her body going numb. "Let's wait and see if she comes back to rest later. If she does, I'll try to find a chance to apologize."

Or maybe―

Her gaze shifted toward Joe. If Joe came to rest later, she could take the opportunity to talk to him and apologize first. That might help him develop a better impression of her.

Then, if Skylar insisted on firing her, maybe Joe would think she was being unreasonable.

Priscilla's mind raced as she tried to think of multiple solutions. Finally, after about ten minutes, Joe walked over.

Skylar was playing with Vivian on the other side. Joe walked over and took a drink of water first.

Trina's eyes practically popped out when she saw him.

In person, it was almost impossible to look away.

No wonder Priscilla always said she didn't want a boyfriend and only wanted to be with Joe. Even if it meant being his secret lover, she would willingly do it. If it were her, she would do the same. He was irresistible.
