Chapter 1714
Priscilla still couldn't let go of her frustration. She just couldn't understand why Joe loved Skylar so much.
But even Trina could see that Skylar's figure was far superior to hers.
If only she were Joe's wife-her figure would surely be even better. Behind her, there must be a whole team helping Skylar maintain her appearance.
She took a deep breath and said, "A wise person knows when to swallow their pride. Some things aren't worth holding on to. It's just a matter of apologizing to Mrs. Martin, right? Fine, I'll go apologize."
"That's the spirit! Look, things may seem tough now, but remember, fortunes change. Right now, Joe is treating you coldly because of Mrs. Martin, but who knows? Maybe he'll get tired of her soon. When that happens, your opportunity will come." Trina immediately offered words of encouragement.
20 minutes later, Joe and Vivian went off to rest and grab a bite to recharge.
Skylar went to the restroom. The downside of going out on weekends was the crowd. There was always a line for the restroom.
While waiting, she suddenly caught a whiff of a fragrance. It wasn't overpowering, but it was quite seductive.
She glanced up, surprised to see Priscilla standing beside her. That was quite a coincidence.
"Mrs. Martin, may I take a moment of your time?" Priscilla asked with a smile. Skylar raised an eyebrow. "What's the matter?"
Seeing Skylar's raised eyebrow, Priscilla couldn't help but think of how Joe had reacted when he saw her earlier. After years of marriage, they had grown to embody a shared air of authority, commanding the same intimidating presence. It instinctively made her feel a bit uneasy.
"Mrs. Martin, what I said earlier to my friend was just a joke between us. I know Mr. Martin is married to you, and I would never be foolish enough to do anything inappropriate. Please believe me." Priscilla's apology came across as sincere. Skylar nodded calmly. "I understand."
Seeing that Skylar had no strong
reaction and her expression was et
calm, Priscilla's heart started to race "I..... I mean it. I hope you don't misunderstand me, Mrs. Martin."
"Mm," Skylar responded simply, offering no further words.
Skylar had grown much more patient since becoming a mother a few years ago. If
this had happened a few years ago, she would have certainly shown more
displeasure.
She could clearly distinguishnoveldrama
between playful remarks and serious intentions. It was obvious that Priscilla had feelings for Joe. But there were so many people who were interested in Joe, and if Skylar had paid attention to every one of them, she wouldn't have had time for herself.
She probably wasn't the only one who spoke about their fantasies about Joe behind closed doors. Skylar had heard it before and didn't mind.
Priscilla didn't know what else to say, feeling like Skylar really didn't care. But she wondered if anyone could truly not care about others eyeing their husband.
She couldn't help but wonder if
Skylar was truly unconcerned about
Joe having a mistress outside.
Perhaps Skylar was just so
confident in herself, believing no one
could take Joe away.
Priscilla had these questions in her mind but couldn't bring herself to ask. She
could only watch as Skylar entered the restroom.
She knew when to stop and realized that saying anything more would be pointless, so she quietly left the restroom.
After Skylar returned, she glanced at Joe. Then, she sat down and smiled at
Vivian. "Vivian, do you think your Dad is amazing?"
"Dad is the best father ever! He's my superhero." Vivian's eyes sparkled with admiration as she looked at her father.
At her kindergarten, Vivian often compared her father to others.
To her, her father was the most handsome and the best.
What do you think?
