Chapter 807
Chapter 807
"Okay," Dylan replied.
Noticing that made Dora recall Gino's remark. She immediately shot a meaningful glance at Dylan as if she were trying to say, "I'll protect you later, Dyl. But you must help me with my equations."
Dylan did feel bad about what happened earlier. It was just that he found Gino annoying. Did being wealthy mean he could use money to dismiss others whenever he liked?
Dylan just wanted to teach Gino a lesson. However, he never expected that the teachers would actually disqualify Gino from the finals. Since Dylan was feeling somewhat guilty, he nodded reluctantly.
In the end, they exited through the back door without anyone in their way. A cab was even waiting for them there. Hera opened the car door for Dora and Dylan to hop into the vehicle. Gino had just returned from the washroom and saw a woman holding Dylan's and Dora's hands from afar, so he quickly rushed ahead.
By then, the two of them had gotten into the car. Hera, having just thrown the mask into the rubbish bin nearby, also entered the vehicle.
That one glance at her side profile made Gino recognize her immediately.
"Hera! Hera!" He sped toward her. However, Hera didn't hear him and got into the cab, which drove away shortly.
Gino ran a few steps but was unable to catch up. He immediately took out his phone and called Gideon.
"Gideon, I saw Hera! She's back!"
On the other end of the call, Gideon's heart began to race. It had been five years since there was any news of Hera's whereabouts.
"Where?" he asked instantly.
"At the back door of the arena. She had two children with her when she got into the cab with the registration number J1432. Quickly ask your friends in the police force to find out where the cab's going!" Gino said anxiously.noveldrama
At that moment, Gideon switched on the TV in the office and happened to see the Agrecia Informatics Competition's final results. A young boy called Dylan Youngworth won first place, and there was no sign of Gino's name in the top three spots.
"I get it now. Dylan Youngworth, he has the same name as Hera! She took him and his sister into the car. They must be her children," Gino continued.
Gideon had no idea what nonsense Gino was spouting. "Did something go wrong with your brain after losing the competition?"
"You're the one who's being an idiot! Your entire family is stupid. Oh, wait! No, it's just you who's stupid!" Gino exclaimed furiously.
"That's enough. Don't joke about this anymore. You only lost a competition, so don't go looking for all sorts of excuses. I have a meeting soon, so I'll talk to you later." Gideon ended the call as soon as he finished speaking.
Gino gripped his phone tightly. Why didn't Gideon believe him?
Gino was determined to find Hera.
After taking Dylan and Dora back to the hotel, the two of them obediently stood before Hera with their heads bowed as they listened to her lecture.
"You must let me know whenever you wish to return to Jadonia. Either I'll accompany you or ask Ms. Yarrow to bring you two here. You two secretly traveled to an unfamiliar country where you know no one here.
"Do you know how dangerous that is? What if human traffickers had laid their eyes on you? What do you think would've happened?"
"Mommy, human traffickers won't kidnap me. Since I can eat a lot, they'll go poor from all the food they have to buy for me," Dora answered.
"Look at how you're talking back to me," Hera said, causing Dora to immediately cover her mouth.
"Mom, I'm sorry we made you worry. I'll let you know next time," Dylan said while handing over the championship certificate and prize money.
Hera was exasperated yet amused while looking at Dylan's certificate. She had no idea what to say to him.
"Alright, Esther. Dylan and Dora know what they did was wrong. They didn't want to distract you, seeing how busy you usually are. Don't be angry," advised Tiffany, who had been standing aside.
Dora nodded.
"You're still growing, so you shouldn't skip lunch. It's bad for your health," Tiffany added. As soon as she finished speaking, Dora's tummy began to rumble.
Dora immediately touched her stomach. "I'm not hungry. My stomach's just singing."
Hera softened upon seeing Dora's and Dylan's aggrieved looks. They were her children, after
all.
