Chapter 808
Chapter 808
"Alright. Pack up your things. I'll take you two out for lunch," Hera said.
"Okay! Mommy, I want to have the buffet downstairs!" Dora cheered.
"Control yourself later and don't eat so much. You're getting fatter," Dylan reminded Dora.
"Nonsense! I'm not fat! You just lost weight after eating too little, and that's making me look fatter." Dora refused to give in. She then turned to change out of her cheerleading uniform.
"Dyl, I'll help you keep the prize money first. Let me know whenever you wish to buy anything." Hera took the prize money and certificate from Dylan.
"Will do," Dylan answered. Once he had saved up enough money, he would buy a car for Hera. Then, she wouldn't have to use the company car to go to work.
Dora came out after changing into a pale yellow dress. Hera helped her put on a white jacket before restyling her messy ponytails again.
"Mommy, did any handsome man call or message you on WhatsApp?" Dora suddenly recalled Bernard.
Hera was perplexed. "What handsome man?"
"It was the handsome man that I met two days ago on the plane." While speaking, Dora noticed Hera's confusion and understood that Bernard had not taken the initiative to reach out to Hera.
Hera was so pretty, and Dora herself was so adorable. Even Dylan was very intelligent. Bernard was missing out by not taking the initiative to phone Hera. He would definitely regret it in the future.
Hera could tell that Dora's mind was racing and knew that she was up to something again. Due to her ongoing projects at the office, Hera had not been spending much time with Dora and Dylan, making her feel somewhat guilty.
Her situation wasn't the same as other normal families. Dora and Dylan did not have a father, so Hera always did her best to make it up to them.
"I've already finished my project, so I'll accompany you for the next three months, alright?"
Hearing that made Dora's and Dylan's eyes light up. "Mom, can we really spend that much time together?" Dylan asked.
"I've already informed the kindergarten of your absence, but you're not allowed to slack behind on your homework," Hera said.
Dylan's face lit up. As long as he didn't have to attend class with those kids at kindergarten, homework was not a big deal for him.
Dora thought otherwise. Her joyful smile immediately vanished at the idea of doing homework.
Why did something as annoying as homework have to follow her wherever she went? Thankfully, Dylan was a genius, so Dora could copy his work.
"Mommy, you must find a daddy for us over the next three months, okay?" Dora suggested.
Upon noticing Dora's hopeful gaze, Hera did not want to douse her excitement and replied,' I'll consider it if someone suitable turns up. Let's go for lunch."
"He must be young, handsome, and wealthy!" Dora continued. "That way, I can show off to my classmates at kindergarten!"
Hera was at a loss for words.
The hotel's second floor was the buffet zone. Very few people were here at this time.
Hera found a corner next to the window. Just as they took a seat, Margaret came over. The sight of her made Dora and Dylan realize that Hera would be busy again even though she had promised to spend time with them earlier.
"Ms. Hemsley," Dora and Dylan greeted Margaret reluctantly.
"Hello, Dora and Dylan," Margaret said.
Hera noticed the dissatisfaction written on their faces and gently coaxed them, "I have something to discuss with Margaret, then she'll leave. You two go get your food first, okay?" With that, she said to Tiffany, "Tiffany, take the children with you to get some food first."
Tiffany nodded. "Will do. Dyl, Dora, let's go. We'll go and get some food. I heard the barbecued meats here are quite delicious."
"I want some meat!" Dora's attention was directed toward the thought of delicious food, and she happily ran toward the buffet section.noveldrama
"Dora, slow down!" Tiffany ran after her.
"Mom, what do you want to eat? I'll take some food for you," Dylan asked before walking
away.
"I want steak, medium well-done. Thank you, Dyl." Hera kissed his forehead with a smile. "Your son is really thoughtful," Margaret praised.
Hera beamed. Dylan had always been more mature and thoughtful than Dora from a young age. She wondered if he took after her or his father.
"Tell me what's going on," Hera said.
"I just returned from XS Corporation. I tried to make an appointment with Mr. Smith in your name, but the company rejected me.
"XS Corporation even blacklisted our company and you, especially. No matter the reason, they've refused to see you," Margaret explained.
She then began to complain, "Brenda must have screwed up this task and intentionally let you deal with the mess. How can you discuss the contract if they wouldn't even meet you?"
Hera scowled slightly. She returned to Jadonia not long ago and hadn't even been in contact with XS Corporation. Why did the company decide to specifically blacklist her?
"Esther, you should report this matter to Mr. Whitlock. Brenda's clearly making things difficult for you," Margaret said indignantly.
"Mr. Whitlock clearly cares about you. As long as you act coquettish, Mr. Whitlock will definitely resolve the matter for you. If the contract falls through, there goes our year-end
bonus."
Hera ignored her. "Just continue trying to book an appointment. Also, help me dig up some information on XS Corporation's boss."
There was nothing Margaret could do since Hera refused to give in. "I'll get right to it."
At the office, anyone with common sense could tell that Vanta was interested in Esther. However, her cold and professional attitude had given Brenda a chance to get close to him. If Esther showed even a slight interest in Vanta, she might even be calling the shots at Future Tech now.
Dora was holding a plate in the food area. She tiptoed to receive the barbecued meat given by the server before heading to the sauce station to scoop some sauces.
As Dora turned around, she failed to notice Giselle walking briskly behind her and accidentally ran into her. Giselle kicked Dora aside in disdain as she did not expect that a
child would bump into her.
Dora fell hard to the floor with a thud. The plate in her hand shattered, leaving the food scattered all over the floor. The dark sauces immediately splashed all over Giselle's white
dress.
Although Dora was hurt from the fall, she immediately apologized upon realizing that she had ruined Giselle's pretty dress. "Madam, I'm sorry."
Madam?
Giselle glared at Dora, who was lying on the floor. To her, Dora was being very rude. Giselle didn't even look that old, yet Dora referred to her as "Madam".
Giselle had gone through so much effort to order a dress from Torasia's renowned designer. Thus, the sight of the ruined dress ignited her fury.
What do you think?
