At that moment, Felix became aware of Jared's presence and realized the situation. Jared rose from his seat as well. "Felix, I had a feeling you'd show up to rescue Laura.

"That's why I informed the head of the Larsson family beforehand, anticipating your attempt to deceive them by posing as Madam Goddard's disciple."

Laura, who was in the process of getting hung, desperately wanted to say something. However, she had been silenced and could not utter a single word.

The look in her eyes displayed a silent plea for Felix to leave as soon as possible and not to worry about her. If they both stayed, they would never be able to escape.

"So today you're Madam Goddard's disciple," he scoffed. "What about tomorrow? Will another kid come along and claim to be Mr. Earnhart's disciple? And what about the day after that? It's absurd, and here you are saying it in front of the Larsson family. You're playing with fire!"

His statement was logical and made sense. Without it, larger families would struggle to maintain peace. But Felix found it absurd. How could someone act so confidently without any proof or evidence to back them up? It was as if they were fearless of any consequences.

"It appears you've been well-prepared for this. Time is limited, and there's no cell phone reception. You have all the advantages of the right timing, location, and people on your side."

Jared's lips curled slightly, and he silently cursed Felix. "Stupid fool, only now do you realize it? It's too late!"

Jeremy raised his right hand and pointed at Felix. "Your attempt to save someone from the Larsson family shows a blatant disrespect for our authority, young man. By the city's laws, I have every right to kill you on the spot."

Felix curled his lip in disdain as he lifted his right hand, flinging something toward him. "Don't be so eager to spout off threats. Examine this first, and then we'll see if you have the guts to follow through."

Jeremy furrowed his brow and

reached out to grab the object. After a quick glance, he rose from his seat. "Felix, you still haven't learned your lesson? If I allow you to leave unscathed today, it will disgrace the Larsson family. So don't get any ideas.

"However, if you are willing to kneel and act like a dog in front of me, perhaps I'll be in a forgiving mood and speak on your behalf. Our families have been close for generations, after all."

Felix completely ignored Jared's presence. He had already deemed him someone who had to be killed.

As the Larsson family watched in anticipation of Felix's downfall, Jeremy suddenly stood between them with an anguished expression. "Felix took at what has transpired. We almost had a rift that could never be healed."

Felix grinned. "So, Mr. Jeremy, are you saying that you won't try to end my life anymore?"

Jeremy's face flushed with humiliation, and he wished the ground would open up and swallow him whole.
